Credo Demonstrates 100G, 200G, and 400G Active Ethernet Cables at CIOE 2018 Robust, High Performance Connectivity for Next Generation Datacenter and Enterprise Networks

Shenzhen, China, Sept 4, 2018 – Credo, a global innovation leader in high performance, low power connectivity solutions for 100G, 200G, and 400G port enabled networks, today announced it will conduct multiple product demonstrations at the 2018 China International Opto-electronic Exposition (CIOE) showcasing its new product family of Active Ethernet Cables (AEC).  The Credo AEC family is engineered to provide robust, deterministic solutions for a variety of 100G, 200G, and 400G intra-rack and inter-rack connectivity requirements. The conference starts today at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, Fuhua 3rd Rd, FuTian CBD, Futian Qu, Shenzhen Shi, Guangdong Sheng, 518000, China, with exhibits taking place from September 5 through September 8.

‘’Datacenter, enterprise and high performance computing environments require flexible and deterministic 50G, 100G, 200G, and 400G cabled connections within the rack and between adjacent racks,”said Job Lam, chief operating officer at Credo. “Our AEC family provides true plug and play connectivity for all combinations of Top-of-Rack (ToR) Switch to Server and ToR to ToR networking requirements at a significantly lower power and price than active optical solutions.”

“Server access in the Cloud is rapidly moving beyond 25G with many deployments over the next twelve months looking to deploy 12.8Tbps fabrics in both the leaf and spine with adoption of both 50G and 100G server connectivity,“ said Chris DePuy, founder of 650 Group.  “Rapid mega-scale adoption of next generation speeds will require the cloud providers to reduce to deploy 100G server access at a cost significantly less than 4X increase in bandwidth.  Cloud providers will also be looking to reduce operational costs with lower power consumption and reduced complexity.”

The Credo AEC family allows for connecting ports of the same rate such as 400G QSFP-DD to 400G QSFP-DD and 400G OSFP to 400G OSFP as well as providing the necessary breakout cabling requirements such as a 400G QSFP-DD (or OSFP) to 2xQSFP56 which maintains the end-to-end 50G PAM4 lane rates and a 400G QSFP-DD (or OSFP) to 4xQSFP28 which gear-shifts down to 25G NRZ lane rates on the server side.

Credo will be demonstrating its AEC products on the expo floor in Booth #2122/2123.

About Credo

Credo is a leading provider of high performance, mixed-signal semiconductor solutions for the data center, enterprise networking and high performance computing markets. Credo's advanced Serializer-Deserializer (SerDes) technology delivers the bandwidth scalability and end-to-end signal integrity for next generation platforms requiring single-lane 25G, 50G, and 100G connectivity for 100G, 200G, 400G, and soon to come 800G networks.  The company makes its SerDes available in the form of Intellectual Property (IP) licensing on the most advanced processing nodes and with complementary product families focused on extending reach and multiplexing to higher data rates.
